Sometimes it is not taken into account that people spend up to 90% of their lives&nbsp;<strong>indoors<\/strong>&nbsp;and breathing&nbsp;<strong>good quality air<\/strong>&nbsp;is also key to avoiding&nbsp;<strong>diseases<\/strong>. As the&nbsp;<strong>coronavirus<\/strong>&nbsp;that causes the&nbsp;<strong>disease COVID-19<\/strong>&nbsp;is primarily transmitted through the air, indoor spaces such as&nbsp;<strong>schools<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>workplaces<\/strong>&nbsp;are becoming the focus of governments. They know that the changes for&nbsp;<strong>caring for indoor air quality<\/strong>&nbsp;will serve to control SARS-CoV-2 because there is still a risk of more&nbsp;<strong>waves<\/strong>&nbsp;and possible future&nbsp;<strong>pandemics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The right to breathe cleaner indoor air free of pathogens such as the&nbsp;<strong>coronavirus&nbsp;<\/strong>was the focus of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/10\/12\/readout-of-the-white-house-summit-on-improving-indoor-air-quality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summit on Improving Indoor Air Quality&nbsp;<\/a>(October 12, 2022) at the White House in the United States. \u201cIn addition to new, updated COVID-19 vaccines and lifesaving treatments, improving indoor air quality within the buildings we use every day is an essential part of the Biden Administration\u2019s plan to manage COVID-19 this fall and winter\u201d, it was announced in the official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Administration has called on business and school leaders to take key steps to improve indoor air quality in their buildings as a key way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the White House summit was Dr&nbsp;<strong>Joseph Allen<\/strong>, director of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsph.harvard.edu\/joseph-allen\/healthy-buildings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Healthy Buildings<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;program at the TH Chan School of Public Health&nbsp;<strong>at Harvard University<\/strong>. He defended that buildings should be the first line of defence to reduce the spread of viruses:&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThe arguments in favour of airborne transmission are irrefutable. Almost all indoor infections occur in poorly ventilated spaces,<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/activity-6996873838185578496-QirH?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/activity-6996873838185578496-QirH?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Air quality control should become the new norm in all buildings.
